With the recent Electric Forest line up announcement, I know that I’m not the only one who can contain their excitement to see some of my favorite artists throw down in the Sherwood Forest this upcoming June. At Fusion Raveo, we are very excited to see some of our favorite artists that we feature on our station, live, at one of the most anticipated festivals of the year. From the nightly headliners, to the hidden gems that will play on stages hidden in the plush trees of the forest, my mind is running wild on how absolutely epic this festival is going to be. Not even to mention the potential collaborations that might go down in the history books or secret sets that Electric Forest is notorious for, anybody remember Pretty Lights with Break Science back in 2011? To say the least, we have no clue the surprises Insomniac and Madison House have in store for us in 2015, and I cannot wait to find out.
Of course Bassnectar, Skrillex and Big Gigantic are going to be mind blowing, however I am most excited to see a few producers that we play on Fusion Raveo that are on the up and coming. Haywyre and Illenium, are getting a lot of love in the United States right now when it comes to awesome bass music and I am extremely excited to see them perform live in the Electric Forest this summer. I have seen Haywyre live back in 2013, but since, his sound has diversified and he has produced remixes to Odesza tracks and Noisia just to name a few and created a big name for himself. Haywyre is even added to the “Dead Rocks” bill, featuring Dillon Francis, Zeds Dead and Paper Diamond at the infamous Red Rocks venue this summer. If you have never heard any of Haywyre’s tracks, check him out on Soundcloud, but most importantly go to his set at Electric Forest I assure you it will be memorable!
Illenium is getting a lot of attention in the bass music scene as well, and has been a great addition to our station. According to his Soundcloud profile, “Illenium has distinguished himself from the myriad of others through an unrivaled ability to create an immersive emotional experience of highs and lows that pulls on the heart strings and leaves the listener awestruck, accomplishing in the span of just a few short minutes what takes many a full set.” I have yet to see a live Illenium set, but his tracks are definitely awesome and uniquely different. I will assure you that I will not miss this set at Electric Forest this year (I’ll just cross my fingers that it does not overlap with Bassnectar).
